What does it take to be a lawyer?

I go to UCI ( University of California, Irvine), and my major is Business Economics. I am 40 units from graduating, and my UC GPA is 2.4. I am a one year ( took one year at community college before transferring) transfer student and i got a D in one cl, retook it and got a B+ the second time around..However, another cl that I got a D+ in that I retook, I got a D the second time around. The cl is really difficult. What should I do? I am thinking of leaving it be and continuing on with my other major requirements. What are the requirements I need to accomplish so that I can get into law school. I am disappointed with myself this quarter as I have just refilled my life with love and joy. I quit doing drugs( on drugs for three years), and I have been drinking only occasionally on social events.
