Why Is It People Under 21 Can Chug Crappy Liquor Like Skol Vodka but Say Beer Tastes Disgusting?

I was the same way at one point but i don't understand it. So many people under 21 can drink the cheapest, nastiest liquor but if they have something like MGD or Blue Moon they think tastes like god awful? How can people drink stuff that tastes like gasoline but they think beer is terrible?
