Jon & Kate Plus 8 question...?

I was just watching a preview for the episode tomorrow and it is like a recap of things that have happened since they got together. At there wedding reception the announcer said this is a wedding party for Jon and Katie. Is Katie her real name and they just said Kate because it sounds better with Jon and Kate Plus 8 or is kate her real name? also her dad walked her down the aisle and his face was blacked out. Does he now want to be in the show at all? He isn't in the show so he may not want to be. Also what do you think of Kate's hair over the years? I like it much better now. I know that you won't know all of the answers or anything but some people read lots of fan sites and know all about people. If you don't know then don't answer the question.
