LDS- why is sacrament meeting taught by regular joe schmoe's like me and not?

I've been to some pretty dry CofE sermons, and I've been to a lot of boring LDS meetings. Believe me, it really is six of one, half a dozen of the other. To be fair, though, it is all rhetoric, and none of it is true.
